Grading Guidelines
The Galvin Middle School physical education department assigns each students a letter grade based on their performance in our classes. We want students and parents to know that students are not graded on athletic ability or fitness scores.
Participation 50%: Student participates appropriately to the best of their ability in all aspects of class including warm-up, flexibility and strength building activities, skill building activities, and game-play situations.
Skill Development 20%: Student works to improve skills during practice activities and game play situations.
Tests and Projects 15%: Student scores on tests and projects
Class Preparation 15%: Student comes to class prepared to learn with appropriate dress for physical activity, athletic sneakers, and proper attitude. We also ask students not chew gum when they come to class.
